Appointment of New
Maine Supervisor of Officials

It is with both sadness and pleasure that a new Supervisor of Officials - Maine is being announced.  Moe Gilbert has resigned from the position he has held since 1997 because of a directive from his medical doctor. During Moe's tenure as Supervisor of Officials - Maine changes have occurred which improved the seminar instructional team and the evaluation program.  While we will miss Moe, he has indicated that he still has a desire to serve the officials in Maine and will remain on the Instructional Staff this coming season. Moe has also moved from Portland to Naples Maine as he prepares for his long awaited retirement from Hannaford.

Now it is a pleasure to announce the appointment of Dan Lavasseur to the position of USA Hockey Supervisor of Officials - Maine. Dan has been a registered USA Hockey official for the past 5 years and has also coached for the past 8 years. Dan's coaching experience includes being a New England Sports Festival coach for 4 years. Dan's officiating resume includes Assignor of Officials for the Lewiston/Auburn Referees Association, USA evaluation staff and Training staff for the State of Maine. He has also been the President of the Auburn Youth Hockey Association and the representative from Auburn to the Maine Amateur Hockey Association.

We are sure that Dan's experiences will assist him in all of the duties he must perform as Supervisor of Officials - Maine. Good luck in your new endeavor.

Please notify Dan if there are questions or for congratulations on his appointment to the New England District staff. His email address can be located on the Staff page of the District Website at www.nedistrictric.org.
