NEW MAINE SUPERVISOR APPOINTED

 2 September 2004

After an extensive search, the New England District Referee-in-Chief
announced today that

Scott Anctil

has been appointed as the Maine Supervisor of Officials. The
position has been vacant since the resignation of Dan Levassour
when it became evident that his new position would not allow
him sufficient time to perform the duties of the position. As the
Supervisor of Officials for Maine under the USA Hockey organization,
Scott will also function as the Referee-in-Chief for Maine Amateur
Hockey Association.

Scott has been a member of USA Hockey officiating program since
1993 and has served as a member of the Maine seminar staff for the
past several years.  Scott is also a member of the local chapter of NIHOA
and presently works in the ECAC and Hockey East and works as an official in the Atlantic Junior Hockey League. During his time in USA Hockey, Scott has attended the Eastern Instructors Camp and the Eastern Regional Officiating Camp. Scott has been a level 4 official for several years and was selected to officiate in the Tier II Bantam National Tournament held in South Burlington, Vermont this past April.

When he is not officiating on the ice, Scott gets to spend time in his
Lewiston Maine home with his wife and two year old daughter. We
welcome Scott to the position and wish him success. Scott’s contact
information can be located on the Staff page of the New England
District Officiating Program website at www.NEDistrictRIC.org. He can be
reached by email at SAnctil@nedistrictric.org.
