Connecticut mourns the loss of one of its own

 


The USA Hockey officiating community mourns the loss 
of one of its young officials. Thomas M. DeMartino, 24, 
of  East Haven, Connecticut who died on May 29, 2003
 of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Thomas
 has been a registered member of USA Hockey's officiating
 program for the past nine seasons. Tom was a member
 of the Central Connecticut Ice Hockey Officials Association
 and worked many games in the New Haven and Connecticut
 area.  He played hockey for East Haven High School before
 he graduated in 1996. He graduated from UCONN in 2000 
with a degree in economics where he was a member of 
PI Kappa Aplha. He was also a member of the National
 Ice Hockey Officials Association. Tom is survived by his
 father Thomas F. DeMartino who is also a registered USA
 Hockey official, his mother Robin and sister Marybeth 
and other loving relatives.

 He will be greatly missed by his fellow Connecticut
and New England officials.
